JV - the JV had a tough night. The first half was very competitive but in the second half the Knights ran away with some very high percentage shooting. The JV team did shot a very good 46% from the field.

Soph - Struggled with the size of the Knights and lost. The key will be for this team to eliminate Turnovers, and begin to gel as a team.

11-21-2009: Youth Teams finish 2-0 for the week in the AAU Elite Fall League.
The AAU youth team went 2 - 0 this weekend. We played two teams that we had not played before and it went very well. We played the South Valley All-stars which are from Payson, Spanish Fork and Salem. We also played a team from Alta. The girls played great this weekend and their defense is getting better each week. Offensivlely at times we look great as we have been moving the ball pretty well but we still miss easy shots at times. We won both games by playing great defense with a good half court trap and we did a good job on the boards. Each week it is great to see the improvement the girls are making.

11-14-2009: Youth Teams finish 4-1 for the week in the AAU Elite Fall League.
The Springville/Mapleton youth teams went 4 -1 this last weekend.
This weekend we seemed to be challenge a lot more than in weekends
past. It was great for the girls as they learned to overcome
adversity and some physical play. This weekends experience I hope we
can build on some areas that we must improve on like rebounding,
spacing in the offense and just better execution on out of bounds
plays. Little by little there is improvement each week. Our overall
record for the fall is 26 -7.

11-7-2009: Youth Teams finish 4-0 for the week in the AAU Elite Fall League.
The Springville youth teams finished a perfect 4-0 this weekend. We have been making continual improvement and it is showing on the floor. Our biggiest strenght has been our quickness in the half court trap. The last few years we have spent a lot of time on the full court press but with the number of games that we are playing each weekend we have needed to switch to a half court trap. The girls little by little are getting these concepts down. We still have a lot of improvement to make but the basketball year is still early and we will get there. The important thing is to improve each week.

Last spring a challege was issued to shot 30,000 shots. After many hours of shooting we are glad to honor the following girls for there hard work and dedication:

11-3-2009: Youth Teams finish 6-0 for the week in the AAU Elite Fall League.

The 5/6 grade team played really well. They rebounded and were very aggresive. The girls ran the court well and we ran our offense very well. I was proud of all the girls and the way they worked hard and worked as a team. We won the game by over 15 pts I believe and are still undefeated in league play. -AAU Coach Parks

10-17-09- Springville Lady Red Devils win Fall Opener
The Springville Red team went 5-0 to win the Fall Opener.
A couple of exciting games were, the come from behind win at the buzzer with Skyline and
the State tournament rematch with Mountain View.
The Springville White team also did very well playing at the Varsity level and finishing 3-1
with only one loss to Mountain View
AAU Fall Opener Results
Youth Teams played in their First Event of the New Season - 2009 Lone Peak Classic
Lone Peak Classic Results:
The Springville/ Mapleton youth teams participated in the Lone Peak Classic October 16 and 17.
Two teams participated in the tournament and went 5 and 5.It was a difficult tournament as the
girls played 10 games in less than 24 hours.
Overall the tournament was a great success as one team was the runner up in the final bracket
and the other team was very competitive. Please view the highlights.
Girls basketball continues to grow rapidly in the State of Utah as a five
years ago a tournament like this would only draw 4 teams. The tournament this year
had 10 teams and the fall league has close to 30 teams.
It is great to see the progress of the girls as each one is getting better and better.

Our teams won a combined 4 championships at the Spring Fling & BYU Jamboree's

6-23-2009 BYU Team camp
Both the Varsity and JV did very well at BYU Jamboree.
Our Varsity team went undefeated and placed first in the Tournament.
JV had one lost in pre-tournament play but also finished 1st.
6-23-2009 Snow College Team Camp
Both the Varsity and JV did very well at Snow College.
The varsity team went undefeated 5-0.
JV team had only 2 loses 3 - 2 playing at the Varsity Level.
Sophmore's also did well with only 1 lose. 4 - 1
6-5-2009 UVU Jamboree:
Two teams went to UVU, Lady Red Devil Varsity & JV. Both teams played at the Varsity Level.
